File Extension FNT
File extension FNT is an extension that is owned by the Microsoft Corporation hence it can only be used with a computer running on the windows operating system. When a user buys a computer with windows operating system already installed, they get the application as well. However, if a computer does not have the file already installed, one can download it from the internet.

FNT is a general file and it can be used to store vector font and single raster font files. Today, this application is not commonly used because there are other better imaging formats that have been developed examples being TrueType and OpenType files, which are denoted by the abbreviations .tf and .otf. All three applications are stored in the font's folder and can be used with various programs that are supported by windows. If the file does not open, it is important to carry out a registry scan that will detect any flows in the application and this determines whether the application will be reinstalled or edited.

A scan also ensures maximum memory optimization and maximum CPU usage. File extension FNT are inflexible; hence, they cannot be resized to either a smaller or a bigger size. This makes the application look either smaller or bigger when presented on a normal screen format. This has led to the use of image applications that have resizing ability. There are viruses that can imitate an FNT file.

The user should therefore be careful while opening downloaded or emailed content that resembles this extension. An alternative is installing the computer with a file extension FNT viewing tweak. If there are errors with the application, it is advisable to correct the errors. Microsoft Windows uses this application with two programs, which are 'edit with soft Fontedit' and another that is stored in the font folder and is usable with various programs.

The files are also used for adding fonts to Microsoft applications like spreadsheets and word processors. In addition, a font file that is used with Windows 3.1 supports the bitmap font. This bitmap is used for imaging and editing images and for each file extension FNT, there is one bitmap image. Depending on the FNT application settings, it can be installed in some operating systems and it could still work though this is hardly possible. The file has neither identity settings nor an identity name; hence, it is difficult to differentiate between a genuine one and one that is corrupt.
